Participate in the EU Cody Game - Interactive webinar for schools!
EU Cody Game is an online live coding game aimed at students aged 8-14 that will engage in collaborative and competitive coding activities. Pupils will be split into two big pan-European teams to compete against each other with coding decisions. The activity will be conducted by the Associate Professor of Computer Systems at the University of Urbino and European Code Week Ambassador Alessandro Bogliolo and facilitated by teachers.
Date: Thursday 30 November 2017
When: 11:00 - 12:00 CET
The game will have a didactic purpose and will be based on CodyRoby, Code.org and Scratch. Decisions in each team will be taken by instant majority voting – only during the live event will be possible to participate actively in the game. The rules of the game will be made available in advance, but local facilitators should help non-English speaking kids.
This activity is based on the super successful CodyGame that Alessandro Bogliolo organized with 6.000 students during EU Code Week 2017 in Italy. Let's make a new record together!
To participate with your class you will have to:
- Register in the Google Form below
- Make sure that you can follow the interactive webinar on 30 November together with your students. You will find the live video stream on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzqTXxefuyg
- Make sure you have at least one mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with data connection and QRcode reader. It will be handled by a teacher or adult facilitator. Classrooms equipped with two or more mobile devices could be possibly split into groups contributing to different teams, in order to trigger a local competition.
