European Distance Learning Week 2018 - Rewatch the Webinars

Distance education has a long history which can be traced back to the 19th century – but with the emergence of the internet, it seems to be as innovative as ever at the same time. The European Distance Learning Week (EDLW), organized by the European Distance E-Learning Network (EDEN), took place from 5th to 9th November 2018. 8 Webinars were organised and 500 registered people from 41 different countries participated in the event.

The EDLW 2018 dealt with all kind of issues regarding distance learning relevant for educators, beginning with forecasts for distance learning based on its history, the relationship between non-formal and formal education as well as possible support measures for PhD Students and research. A specific advantage of online learning is clearly the independence from time. The EDLW turns this to account and put the webinars online. Now, they can be rewatched anytime via Adobe Connect. Beneath the verbal contributions of the participants of the events, the slides as well as the audience reactions in the chat can be expierenced in real-time.

Here an overview on the webinars of 2018.

The European Distance Learning Weeks of 2016 of 2017 also provided some interesting presentations and debates. Have a look on the EDEN webpages of the events 2016 and 2017 for the slides and the recordings of the webinars. All presentation slides of all EDEN events are archived here.
