GOW17 in Czechia

The pan-European Get Online Week has been organized by the NCBI (National Safer Internet Centre) in Czechia since 2014 in collaboration with stakeholders and partners, such as CZ.NIC (partner of the Safer Internet Centre project co-funded by the EC), DZS (Centre for International Cooperation in Education of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic), the NICM (a network of 40 Information Centres for Youth covering all the country) and others.

Important stakeholders supported the campaign with an online promotion. For instance, the WoltersKluwer publisher displayed a detailed information on the web site of the popular Rizeni skoly (School Management) online platform for teachers

The Getonlineweek.cz web site was the main source of the information about the GOW 2017 campaign, and social media was used to increase the reach of the campaign.

Online channels became an important part of the Czech GOW2017 campaign. The NCBI was planning online awareness raising campaign to promote the GOW 2017 objectives and resources including the I-LINC platform to reach experts in education, parents, carers and of course - youths.

The NCBI prepared a GOW17 leaflet in Czech to provide users with a concrete overview of the objectives and tools available.

Outside of the online campaign also face-to-face trainings were organised for different target groups: youth, parents, carers, and seniors. The workshops focused on raising digital literacy and practical use of testing and educational tools promoted during the GOW17.
